LONDON — England has officially ruled out winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso for their upcoming match against reigning world champions South Africa at Twickenham next weekend.

Feyi-Waboso sustained a head injury during the match against Australia on Saturday, as he attempted to stop a try in the 50th minute of the game, which ended in a 42-37 defeat for England. Following this incident, he was withdrawn from the squad on Sunday.

The loss to Australia marks the second consecutive defeat for England in their autumn series, resulting in further injury setbacks for the team. Flanker Tom Curry’s absence has already been confirmed after he was knocked unconscious while making a tackle during the match against the Wallabies.

To fill the gap left by Curry, Bath’s Ted Hill has been called up as back row support. Meanwhile, Ben Curry and Sam Underhill are set to vie for the No. 7 jersey as they prepare to face the Springboks.

In addition to Feyi-Waboso’s exclusion, Sale’s Tom Roebuck has been brought in to enhance the back three options. Ollie Sleightholme, who scored twice as a substitute against Australia, is also in line to step into Feyi-Waboso’s position.

Currently enduring a streak of four consecutive defeats, England aims to turn their fortunes around by achieving victory against the Springboks next Saturday. Following this match, Japan is set to visit Twickenham a week later to conclude the autumn series.
