ELON, N.C. — In an impressive display, TJ Simpkins contributed 21 points off the bench, propelling Elon to a commanding 103-66 victory against Bluefield College on Saturday evening.
Simpkins also recorded three steals for the Phoenix, who improve their season record to 1-1. Nick Dorn played a significant role as well, scoring 16 points on 4 of 10 shooting, including 2 of 8 from beyond the arc, and connecting on 6 of 8 free throws while contributing five rebounds. Meanwhile, TK Simpkins added 14 points and demonstrated good shooting efficiency, hitting 5 of 10 from the field, including 3 of 7 three-point attempts, and converting 1 of 3 at the charity stripe.
On the other side, Quantavis McKinney was a notable performer for the Rams, tallying 15 points alongside seven rebounds. Justin Wiggins chipped in with nine points and facilitated six assists for Bluefield College, while Danny Alford contributed eight points to the team’s effort.
Elon seized control of the game with just over 12 minutes left in the first half, maintaining their lead throughout the match. By halftime, they had established a comfortable 53-33 lead with Simpkins contributing 14 points to the scoreline.
