Tre Stewart showcased an impressive performance on Saturday, rushing for 166 yards and scoring two touchdowns, including a pivotal 11-yard run in overtime that propelled Jacksonville State to a thrilling 44-37 victory over Louisiana Tech.

The game reached an exciting climax in overtime when J-Rock Swain made a crucial play by sacking Bulldogs quarterback Evan Bullock on a critical fourth-and-two attempt, effectively sealing Louisiana Tech’s fate.

Jacksonville State, currently holding a record of 6-3 and 5-0 in Conference USA, managed to push the game into overtime after overcoming a 37-31 deficit. With just four seconds remaining in regulation, quarterback Tyler Huff connected with Cam Vaughn on a stunning 49-yard Hail Mary pass.

Huff, under pressure, maneuvered to his right and launched the ball into the air, where Vaughn, slipping past the defense, secured the catch without needing to jump. However, the extra point attempt by Garrison Rippa went awry, pushing the game into overtime.

In addition to his game-winning run, Huff threw for 200 yards, recorded two touchdowns, and had one interception while also running for 42 yards and another touchdown. Vaughn had a standout performance with 130 receiving yards from seven catches, also scoring two touchdowns.

The Gamecocks initially took control of the game with a 21-7 lead, but the Bulldogs responded with a strong defensive effort, rallying back to take a 37-28 lead with 10:20 remaining in the game, thanks to a 4-yard touchdown run from Marquis Crosby.

For Louisiana Tech, which now stands at 3-6 and 2-4 in conference play, Bullock passed for 266 yards and threw three touchdown passes, while teammate Tru Edwards contributed significantly with 142 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions.
