High Point, North Carolina – In a thrilling matchup on Saturday, D’Maurian Williams led the High Point Panthers to an 80-71 victory over Jackson State, showcasing an impressive performance with 22 points.
Williams contributed significantly to the game with six rebounds and eight assists, helping the Panthers improve their record to 2-0 for the season. Kezza Giffa had a strong showing as well, scoring 16 points, including a remarkable 12-for-14 performance at the free-throw line despite shooting only 2-for-6 from the field. Abdoulaye also made his mark with 13 points, shooting an impressive 5-for-6, which included three successful attempts from beyond the arc.
On the other side of the court, Romelle Mansel was the standout for the Tigers, netting 22 points in the losing effort as Jackson State fell to 0-2. He was supported by Jayme Mitchell, who scored 18 points and recorded two steals, while Dorian McMillian added another 14 points to the team’s effort.
