FAIRFIELD, Conn. — In a dominant performance on Saturday, Long Island University excelled on the ground, amassing 407 rushing yards and scoring four touchdowns, leading to a decisive 28-7 win over Sacred Heart. Quarterback Ethan Greenwood was a standout, rushing 20 times for 140 yards and crossing the end zone twice.

The Sharks began their scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run by Greenwood, then Michael Love added to the lead with an explosive 67-yard run, pushing the score to 21-0 during a productive third quarter. Greenwood concluded the scoring with a 55-yard TD run just before the end of the third period.

In addition to Greenwood’s efforts, Long Island’s passing game featured Luca Stanzani and Greenwood, who combined to complete 7 of 12 passes for a total of 98 yards. This victory improved Long Island’s record to 3-7 overall and 3-2 in the Northeast Conference, marking their third win in the last four games.

Ludovick Choquette also contributed with a 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, while Michael Love’s remarkable run came shortly after a Sacred Heart punt, solidifying the Sharks’ control. The team’s defense was particularly impressive, allowing the fewest points this season, propelled by key performances from Qualil Lumpkins, who tallied six tackles, and Luke Kelley, who recorded a critical sack.

On the other side, Sacred Heart’s John Michalski completed 16 of 31 passes for 104 yards, managing one touchdown but also throwing an interception. The loss dropped Sacred Heart’s record to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in their conference play.
