Valparaiso, Indiana – In an impressive display of skill, the Valparaiso Beacons triumphed over Concordia (Michigan) with a commanding score of 111-46 on Friday evening.
Leading the charge for the Beacons, Devon Ellis scored 16 points and contributed nine rebounds to his team’s success, showcasing his strength on both ends of the court.
Isaiah Shaw was another key player, netting 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including two 3-pointers. Tyler Schmidt also made an impact with his performance, finishing the game with 13 points, converting 5 of 8 field goals and hitting 3 of his 6 attempts from beyond the arc.
On the other side, the Cardinals saw Wyatt Zepp lead their scoring efforts with 11 points, while Jason Jergens chipped in with eight points.
From the outset, Valparaiso seized control of the game, taking the lead just 24 seconds into the first half and never relinquishing it. By halftime, the score reflected their dominance at 63-18, with Ellis contributing significantly to the team’s score by accumulating 14 points before the break.
The Beacons continued to extend their lead in the second half, executing a remarkable 12-0 run that stretched their advantage to an astounding 65 points. During this stretch, Cooper Schwieger was particularly effective, scoring 11 points in the second half alone.
Overall, it was a powerful performance from Valparaiso, showcasing their potential for the season.
