CLEMSON, S.C. — In a decisive matchup, Clemson secured an impressive 88-62 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) on Friday night, propelled by the standout performances of Ian Schieffelin and Jaeden Zachery, who each scored 16 points.
The Tigers showcased an exceptional shooting performance, hitting 58.9% from the floor, converting 33 of 56 attempts, and were effective from long-range with 12 successful shots out of 27. The game kicked off rapidly, as Chase Hunter initiated the scoring with a three-point play just a minute in, quickly followed by a 3-pointer. This burst allowed Clemson to establish a commanding 41-20 lead by halftime.
The second half began with Clemson extending their lead to 26 points thanks to a swift 5-0 run. Although the Red Flash managed to narrow the gap to 18 points on two occasions during the half, they were unable to close in any further on the Tigers.
Schieffelin not only contributed offensively but also captured 13 rebounds, marking his first double-double of the season and the 13th of his career. Hunter supported the team with 13 points, while Chauncey Wiggins added an additional 11 points.
For St. Francis, Ace Talbert led the scoring with 17 points. Jeremy, coming off the bench, hit 3 of 5 attempts from beyond the arc, finishing the game with 11 points, while Bobby Rosenberger III contributed 10 points to the Red Flash’s efforts.
