In a tragic incident in Duncannon, Pennsylvania, three individuals lost their lives and three more sustained injuries on Friday when a suspect initiated gunfire inside an apartment. This violent episode escalated as the assailant fled, leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit that spanned two counties, culminating in a confrontational exchange with state troopers.
Authorities identified the shooter as Ricky Shannon, 22, who engaged police while he was inside his pickup truck. In a response to the threat he posed, troopers returned fire, fatally wounding him, according to Lt. Col. George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police. Following the exchange, officers discovered the body of a 19-year-old woman who had also suffered fatal injuries during the earlier attacks.
The incident reportedly began when Shannon arrived at the woman’s residence in Lancaster County, where he proceeded to shoot four members of her family, resulting in one death among them.
