EVANSVILLE, Ind. — In an exciting matchup on Thursday night, Noah Williamson delivered a standout performance for Bucknell, scoring 32 points, with seven of those coming during overtime to help secure a 75-69 victory over Southern Indiana.
In addition to his impressive scoring, Williamson also pulled down nine rebounds for the Bison, who improved their record to 2-0. Josh Bascoe contributed significantly to the team’s success, scoring 15 points with a shooting line of 4 for 12 from the field, although he struggled from beyond the arc, finishing 0 for 6 on three-pointers. He did, however, make all of his attempts from the free-throw line, going 7 for 7.
On the other side of the court, the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana fell to 0-2 despite a strong showing from Jayland Randall, who led his team with 17 points. Damoni Harrison also played a vital role, adding 15 points to the scoreboard, while Stephen Olowoniyi contributed 12 points and recorded three steals.
Williamson’s notable performance included 15 points scored in the second half, and he played a crucial role in tying the game at 63 with just one second remaining by converting the first of two free-throw opportunities. This clutch moment sent the game into an overtime period where Bucknell ultimately triumphed.
