GENOA, Italy — In an exciting match that unfolded in Serie A, 20-year-old Argentine midfielder Nico Paz showcased his skills by delivering a remarkable assist during Como’s 1-1 draw against Genoa on Thursday.
Paz, who previously assisted Lionel Messi in his debut for Argentina last month, helped set the tone early in the match when he executed a deft spin on the edge of the penalty area. He skillfully slipped the ball to his teammate Lucas Da Cunha, who proceeded to curl a shot around a defender into the net.
Though it appeared Como would secure the win, Genoa’s Alessandro Vogliacco found the back of the net in injury time, salvaging a point for the home team.
Currently, promoted Como stands in 14th place, while Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa hovers just below them in 15th place.
In another notable moment, Mario Balotelli made his presence felt once again. After joining Genoa just the week prior, he entered the match in the second half. However, similar to his debut game on Monday, Balotelli received a yellow card shortly after taking the field, this time for aggressively pushing aside a defender.
