Democratic Representative Steven Horsford secured his reelection to a U.S. House position for Nevada on Thursday. Horsford, who has served four terms in Congress, was historically the first Black individual to hold a congressional seat in Nevada when he was initially elected. This time around, he successfully overcame the challenge posed by former North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee.

His congressional district extends northward from Las Vegas, reaching toward Nye County in the west while also bordering Utah to the east. The announcement of Horsford’s victory was made at 2:36 p.m. EST, affirming his continued presence in the House of Representatives.
