SPARTANBURG, S.C. — In a strong showing on Wednesday night, Mister Dean led South Carolina Upstate to a decisive victory over Piedmont, scoring 25 points and contributing eight rebounds to his team’s 103-70 win.

Dean’s impressive performance was complemented by Chico Johnson, who netted 16 points, shooting 5 of 7 overall, which included a sharp 4 of 5 accuracy from beyond the arc, as well as 2 of 3 from the free-throw line.

Nic Book also made an impact, remaining perfect from the field by scoring 14 points without a miss, while gathering nine rebounds to bolster the Spartans’ performance as they leveled their record at 1-1 for the season.

On the opposing side, the Lions were led by Bailey Wiseman with a solid contribution of 13 points. Dylan Patrick chipped in with 11 points, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in their favor against the dominant Spartans.
