Prior to her tenure in Congress, Torres served in California’s state Legislature and held the position of mayor of Pomona. Additionally, she has experience as a 911 dispatcher, highlighting her commitment to public service.
The 35th Congressional District, which she represents, encompasses a series of inland communities situated to the east of Los Angeles. Torres was officially announced as the winner of the election at 2:47 p.m. EST.
