Republican Ashley Hinson has successfully secured reelection for a U.S. House seat in Iowa, as announced on Tuesday.
Hinson will commence her third term in Congress, serving a district located in the northeastern part of the state, which consists mainly of rural areas while including the more Democratic-oriented cities of Cedar Rapids and Waterloo.
Prior to the recent redistricting, a similar district saw Democratic incumbent Abby Finkenauer narrowly win in 2018, only for Hinson to take the reins in 2020 with a close contest against Finkenauer.
In her latest campaign, Hinson achieved a more substantial victory in 2022, winning by approximately 8 percentage points.
The announcement of her victory was officially made at 11:07 p.m. EST.
