Republican Representative Michelle Fischbach successfully secured reelection for her U.S. House seat in Minnesota on Tuesday.
Fischbach, who previously served as a state senator and held the position of Senate president, also took on the role of Minnesota’s lieutenant governor in 2018.
She initially made her way to Congress in 2020 after defeating a long-standing incumbent, marking a significant milestone for her political career in the 7th District of western Minnesota.
Endorsed by former President Donald Trump, Fischbach managed to overcome a primary challenge from Steve Boyd, a populist candidate who had thwarted her endorsement at the district convention back in August.
In the general election, Fischbach faced Democratic opponent A.J. Peters from Browerville.
The announcement of Fischbach’s victory by the Associated Press came at 11:07 p.m. EST.
