Democratic Representative Seth Magaziner has secured reelection to his U.S. House seat representing the state of Rhode Island as of Tuesday.
Magaziner, who previously won this position in 2022 after the departure of longtime Congressman Jim Langevin, successfully defeated Republican candidate Steve Corvi in the election.
Prior to his congressional career, Magaziner held the role of state treasurer from 2015 until he took office in Washington.
He comes from a politically inclined family, being the son of Ira Magaziner, who served as a policy advisor during President Bill Clinton’s administration.
During his time in office, Magaziner has been a vocal advocate for safeguarding Social Security and Medicare, as well as working diligently to lessen the costs of prescription medications.
Additionally, he has committed himself to both protecting and broadening the Affordable Care Act, while also championing what he describes as sensible gun control legislation.
The announcement of Magaziner’s victory was made at 11:00 p.m. EST.
