Republican Representative French Hill successfully secured reelection for his U.S. House seat in Arkansas on Tuesday. Hill, who has a background as a banking executive, first entered the House of Representatives in 2014. He triumphed over Marcus Jones, a retired Army colonel who previously served as the senior Army advisor to the Arkansas Army National Guard at Camp Robinson.

Since 2011, the seat in the 2nd congressional district has remained under Republican control. This district encompasses Little Rock and its neighboring areas. In addition to his legislative duties, Hill serves as the vice chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and holds the chairmanship of its Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Inclusion.

The announcement of Hill’s victory came at 10:32 p.m. EST, marking another successful campaign for the incumbent and reinforcing the Republican presence in the region.
