Republican Representative Nicholas Langworthy has successfully secured reelection for his U.S. House seat in New York, as announced on Tuesday.
Langworthy triumphed over Democratic challenger Thomas Carle in a district that stretches almost 190 miles along the border with Pennsylvania, encompassing some suburbs of Buffalo.
Throughout his inaugural term, Langworthy was instrumental in advocating for flight safety regulations, a move inspired by the tragic Continental Flight 3407 accident that occurred in Clarence, New York, back in 2009.
Prior to his current role, Langworthy held the position of state Republican committee chair.
Currently, he chairs the House Aviation Safety Caucus and is a member of several important committees, including those focused on rules, agriculture, and oversight.
The announcement of his victory was made by news outlets at 10:05 p.m. EST.
