Roy has faced criticism from the broader Republican Party due to his outspoken dissent regarding former President Donald Trump.
This victory marks the beginning of Roy’s fourth term in Congress, having originally been elected in 2018.
Prior to his congressional career, he gained valuable experience working as an aide to Attorney General Ken Paxton and served as chief of staff for Senator Ted Cruz.
Additionally, he was a senior adviser to former Texas Governor Rick Perry.
