Republican Representative William Timmons secured his reelection for a U.S. House seat representing South Carolina on Tuesday.
Timmons, who has a legal background, first entered Congress in 2018 following his tenure in the state Senate.
His district, the upstate 4th District, encompasses notable cities including Greenville and Spartanburg.
Notably, the district has had a Republican representative in every election since 1992.
In this election, Timmons emerged victorious against Democrat Kathryn Harvey, who campaigned vigorously and invested significantly, making her one of the most competitive challengers in the past thirty years.
He also faced Constitution Party candidate Mark Hackett in the race.
The results were officially announced by the Associated Press at 9:41 p.m. EST, confirming Timmons as the winner.
