Democratic Representative Steve Cohen has successfully secured reelection for a seat in the U.S. House that covers Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District.
Cohen, who has been in office since 2007, continues to serve an area that includes the city of Memphis.
Following the redistricting efforts by Republicans in 2022, Cohen stands as the sole Democratic member among Tennessee’s nine congressional representatives, a move that notably divided Nashville to benefit GOP candidates.
In this recent election, Cohen faced off against Republican rival Charlotte Bergmann, in addition to two independent candidates.
The announcement of Cohen’s victory was made at 9:39 p.m. EST, signifying his continued presence in Congress.
