Democratic Representative Brad Schneider successfully secured his reelection for a seat in the U.S. House, representing the state of Illinois on Tuesday. Having first entered Congress in 2012, Schneider took control of a Chicago-area seat within a district that was considered competitive at the time. Although he faced a setback and lost his seat two years later, he has managed to win every subsequent election since 2016.
Earlier this year, following a lackluster debate performance, Schneider was among the initial Illinois Democrats advocating for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race. The constituency he represents spans various suburban areas and communities located in northeastern Illinois, extending all the way to the border with Wisconsin. The announcement of his victory was made by the Associated Press at 9:23 p.m. EST.
