Democratic Representative Yvette Clarke has successfully secured her reelection to the U.S. House for New York on Tuesday.
As the co-chair of the Congressional Caribbean Caucus, Clarke represents a diverse district in Brooklyn that encompasses neighborhoods such as Crown Heights, Flatbush, and Midwood.
In this election, she faced off against her Republican challenger Menachem Raitport, who is both a rabbi and a manager of a kosher meat market and had previously lost to Clarke in the 2022 election.
Serving in Congress since 2007, Clarke has a strong political background, including six years on the New York City Council where she took over her mother’s position, Una Clarke.
The announcement of Clarke’s victory was made at 9:09 p.m. EST.
