Democratic Representative Hank Johnson secured his reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Georgia on Tuesday. At the age of 70, Johnson will be serving his 10th term in Congress, continuing his role on both the House Judiciary and Transportation and Infrastructure committees. His district, the 4th, encompasses the suburban areas of Rockdale County and parts of DeKalb and Newton counties, located to the east of Atlanta. Johnson’s opponent in this election, Republican Eugene Yu, was unable to secure a victory against him.

Prior to his long career in Congress, Johnson worked as a criminal defense attorney for nearly 30 years. He has also held positions as a magistrate judge and was an elected commissioner in DeKalb County. The announcement of Johnson’s victory was made at 8:51 p.m. EST. This achievement not only reflects his continued support within the community but also the confidence placed in him to represent their interests effectively in Congress.
