On Tuesday, Donald Trump, the former president, secured victory in Oklahoma, obtaining all seven of the state’s electoral votes in a contest against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
Since 1964, the state has consistently leaned Republican, making a Democratic win highly unlikely, and Trump was expected to triumph.
The last instance of a Democrat winning any of Oklahoma’s 77 counties in a presidential election occurred in 2000, when Al Gore managed to take nine counties in eastern Oklahoma, albeit losing the election to George W. Bush, who was the governor of Texas at that time.
The announcement of Trump’s victory was made at 8:00 p.m. EST.
