On Tuesday, Marlin Stutzman, a Republican, secured a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for Indiana.
Stutzman, who had previously represented the district from 2010 until 2017, emerged victorious against Kiley Adolph, a Democrat with a background in education and nonprofit management.
He takes over from Jim Banks, who was the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Indiana.

Stutzman, who runs a farming and trucking business, has made it clear that he intends to address federal spending, claiming that it contributes significantly to rising inflation.
Regarding immigration, he advocates for the completion of the U.S.-Mexico border wall and has expressed his desire to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education altogether.
His win was officially announced by news outlets at 7:41 p.m. EST.
