Republican W. Gregory Steube secured a victory in the election for a U.S. House seat in Florida on Tuesday.
Representing the 17th District, which is situated in southwest Florida along the Gulf Coast, Steube’s area covers cities such as Sarasota, Punta Gorda, and Venice.
Having first assumed office in Congress in 2018, Steube is not only a politician but also an Army veteran with experience in both chambers of the Florida state legislature.
He is known for being part of the Freedom Caucus and the Republican Study Committee.
In this election, Steube faced off against Democrat Manny Lopez, and by 7:31 p.m. EST, the victory for Steube was officially announced.
