China has consistently raised concerns over the safety of its citizens employed in Pakistan. This comes on the heels of a tragic event from the previous month, where two Chinese nationals lost their lives in a suicide bombing near Karachi’s airport.

Currently, there are thousands of Chinese individuals in Pakistan, involved in various projects under Beijing’s extensive Belt and Road Initiative, which focuses on significant infrastructure development. Additionally, many Chinese workers are employed in numerous factories throughout the nation.

Suhail Jokhoio, the spokesperson for the provincial home department, stated that the security guard who carried out the shooting has been apprehended and that law enforcement is actively probing the circumstances that led to the attack. He assured that the injured individuals were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals operating within its borders, emphasizing the importance of security in maintaining international partnerships.
