Jacksonville Triumphs Over Trinity Baptist

In a lively matchup on a Monday night, Jacksonville University secured a 78-65 victory against Trinity Baptist, largely thanks to the impressive performance of Stephon Payne III, who contributed 18 points to the scoreboard.

Alongside his scoring, Payne also made a significant impact on the boards, pulling down 13 rebounds throughout the game.

Supporting Payne in the effort, Zach Bell added 11 points to the Dolphins’ total on an efficient shooting night, hitting 5 of his 10 attempts, including one 3-pointer from four tries.

Robert McCray also played a vital role in the offense, ending with nine points on a 4-of-9 shooting effort, despite facing challenges from beyond the arc, with just one successful shot out of five attempts.

The Eagles, representing Trinity Baptist—a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association—found their leading scorer in Xavier Rose, who managed to put up 13 points.

Additionally, Diego Fernandez contributed with 10 points and showcased his defensive skills with three steals, while teammate Jacquez Anderson matched his output with another 10 points.

This victory for Jacksonville highlights a strong team performance and paves the way for further successes in the season.
