Olean, N.Y. — In the season opener held on Monday night, St. Bonaventure secured a solid victory against CSU Northridge, with a final score of 70-56. Chance Moore emerged as a standout player, contributing 18 points to the team’s win while also grabbing nine rebounds.

Lajae Jones played a key role as well, scoring 16 points with an impressive shooting performance of 5 for 12, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc, and going a perfect 3 for 3 at the free-throw line. Dasonte Bowen also made his mark by finishing with 11 points, highlighting his strong performance at the free-throw line, where he converted 9 of 13 attempts.

On the opposing side, Keonte Jones led the Matadors, recording 16 points and nine rebounds in his effort. St. Bonaventure initially seized the advantage with 15:16 remaining in the first half and maintained control throughout the game. The Bonnies ended the first half leading 31-20, thanks in part to Melvin Council Jr., who led the team in scoring during that half with nine points.
