Stuart Hogg, the former captain of the Scotland rugby team, has admitted to harassing his estranged spouse in a recent court appearance in Selkirk, Scotland.
The 32-year-old sportsman appeared at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Monday, where he acknowledged his guilt to charges of using aggressive language and tracking his wife’s whereabouts.
Additionally, he sent her text messages that were reported as alarming and distressing.
In February, law enforcement was summoned after Hogg was found shouting and swearing, resulting in his arrest.
Following this incident, he was subjected to a court order prohibiting any contact with his wife or entry into their family home.
Currently, Hogg is engaged in divorce proceedings and is a player for the French rugby club Montpellier.
The court has scheduled sentencing for December 5, at which time the consequences of Hogg’s actions will be determined.
