WINNIPEG, Manitoba — In an exciting matchup, Dylan Samberg delivered the crucial go-ahead goal in the third period, leading to a 7-4 triumph for the Winnipeg Jets over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday.

The Jets showcased their strength as Nikolaj Ehlers and Cole Perfetti contributed with empty-net goals, solidifying their position atop the NHL standings with 22 points this season.

Ehlers also celebrated a personal achievement, becoming the highest-scoring Danish player in NHL history with a total of 474 points.

In addition to Samberg, scoring for Winnipeg included Alex Iafallo, Mark Scheifele, Logan Stanley, and Vladislav Namestnikov.

The Lightning responded with goals from Nikita Kucherov, Mitchell Chaffee, Brayden Point, and Brandon Hagel.

In goal, Connor Hellebuyck recorded 26 saves for the Jets, while Jonas Johansson made 27 saves for Tampa Bay.
