CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow matched his career-high by throwing five touchdown passes, while Chase Brown achieved a personal best with 120 rushing yards as the Cincinnati Bengals secured their first home victory of the season, decisively defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 41-17 on Sunday.

Burrow completed 27 of 39 attempts for a total of 251 yards. His scoring passes included one each to Brown, Andrei Iosivas, and Drew Sample, finishing with two touchdown passes to Mike Gesicki. However, Burrow also threw an interception that was taken back for a touchdown by Jack Jones early in the fourth quarter.

Brown had an exceptional game, receiving a season-high 27 carries due to Zack Moss being sidelined with a neck injury. His consistent gains were crucial for a Bengals team that has faced difficulties in the ground game this season.

The Raiders (2-7) contributed to Cincinnati’s scoring opportunities by committing penalties, while quarterback Gardner Minshew lost the ball in the third quarter, leading to Gesicki’s 10-yard touchdown catch—his first since last Christmas when he was with the Patriots—which extended the Bengals’ lead to 31-10.

Gesicki finished the game with five receptions totaling 100 yards. Minshew’s day ended with him throwing 10 passes successfully out of 17 attempts for 124 yards; he was replaced in the latter part of the third quarter by Desmond Ridder, a former University of Cincinnati standout. Ridder fumbled the ball on a strip-sack delivered by Trey Hendrickson in the fourth quarter but did manage to throw his first touchdown pass of the year to Brock Bowers with only 41 seconds remaining.

Jakobi Meyers was a standout for the Raiders, amassing eight catches for 105 yards. The Raiders opened the scoring on their first possession of the game, culminating in a 1-yard touchdown run by Zamir White.

Cincinnati (4-5) responded with an impressive drive that lasted nearly eight minutes. Brown rushed five times for 21 yards and added three catches for another 21 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown reception. After a series of exchanged field goals, Cincinnati benefitted from an unnecessary roughness penalty against Maxx Crosby, who was flagged for a late hit on Burrow. Just a few plays later, Burrow connected with Iosivas for a 10-yard touchdown, giving the Bengals a 17-10 lead at halftime.

Injury updates show that the Raiders had several players leave the game with injuries, including OT Kolton Miller and CB Nate Hobbs, who both suffered ankle injuries in the first half. OT Andrus Peat and OG Cody Whitehair also left due to ankle issues, and TE Harrison Bryant exited in the fourth quarter with a similar concern. For the Bengals, TE Erick All Jr. had to leave the game in the second quarter with a right knee injury, while DT B.J. Hill was ruled out with a hip injury.

Looking ahead, the Raiders will take a week off before facing the Miami Dolphins on November 17, while the Bengals are set to play the Ravens on Thursday night.
