GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers’ quarterback, Jordan Love, is set to play in the upcoming Sunday match against the Detroit Lions, who are leading the NFC North. Love had to exit the game last week due to a strained groin in the third quarter while the team was facing the Jacksonville Jaguars. With his 26th birthday celebrated on Saturday, Love was not listed among the inactive players before kickoff and appeared on the injury report as questionable last Friday. Despite that, he participated in limited practice sessions on both Thursday and Friday.
In addition to Love, the Packers will also have running back Josh Jacobs available for the game. Jacobs, who was also labeled questionable due to an ankle issue, practiced on a limited basis leading up to the match.
However, not all news is favorable for Green Bay as they prepare to confront the NFL’s top-scoring offense. The team will be without two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander and safety Evan Williams. Williams was officially ruled out on Friday due to a hamstring problem, while Alexander, who injured his knee in the Jaguars clash, didn’t participate in practice all week and was similarly categorized as questionable.
Adding to the challenges, starting center Josh Myers will miss the game with a wrist injury. Myers has been a consistent presence, starting in each of the Packers’ first eight games this season and having started all 17 regular-season games over the last two years.
The Lions, currently at 6-1, will be without linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, defensive lineman Josh Paschal, and defensive tackle Brodric Martin due to injuries and illnesses, as designated on Friday.
Jordan Love’s injury surfaced during the initial series in the Packers’ nail-biting 30-27 victory over the Jaguars. He managed to play until early in the third quarter when he fell to the ground after completing a throw to Jacobs.
Among the inactive players for the Packers are wide receiver Malik Heath, defensive lineman Brenton Cox Jr., and offensive tackle Travis Glover. The Lions’ list of inactive players also includes running back Sione Vaki and offensive linemen Giovanni Manu, Christian Mahogany, and Colby Sorsdal, along with defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo.
