INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers have confirmed that forward Isaiah Jackson will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a torn Achilles tendon sustained during the team’s recent matchup against New Orleans, which resulted in a 125-118 defeat. This information was revealed by team representatives late Saturday evening.

Initially, Jackson left the court with what appeared to be a calf injury; however, further evaluation through an MRI conducted in Dallas during the Pacers’ ongoing road trip uncovered the severity of the injury as a torn Achilles tendon. He is set to undergo surgical intervention on Monday to address the injury.

At just 22 years old, Jackson was selected in the first round of the 2021 draft after his collegiate career at Kentucky. Since his entry into the NBA, he has mostly played a supporting role with the Pacers. During this season, he contributed an average of 7.0 points and 5.6 rebounds over the course of five games. Recently, he stepped up to fill the starting position vacated by Myles Turner, who has been dealing with his own injuries, in Wednesday’s encounter with Dallas.

Furthermore, both Jackson and the recently acquired backup center, James Wiseman, who joined the team as a free agent during the offseason, have suffered torn Achilles tendons. The Pacers indicated on October 24 that they are currently collaborating with Wiseman to explore treatment options for his injury on the left leg.
