COOKVILLE, Tenn. — On Saturday, Tennessee Tech delivered a powerful performance, defeating Lindenwood with an impressive score of 52-10. Quarterback Dylan Laible contributed significantly by throwing a touchdown pass, while five different players contributed to the scoring on the ground with rushing touchdowns.
The game kicked off with Jalen Mitchell’s spectacular 35-yard touchdown run, which came during Tennessee Tech’s seventh play from scrimmage, giving the Golden Eagles an early 7-0 advantage heading into the second quarter.
The Golden Eagles then executed an impressive 18-play drive spanning 93 yards, resulting in a 22-yard field goal from Dom LeBlanc, extending their lead to 10-0 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Shortly after, Laible threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Linkins with just under three minutes left, sending Tennessee Tech into halftime with a comfortable 17-point lead. In the first half, Tennessee Tech amassed 246 yards, outperforming Lindenwood, which managed to gain only 201 yards.
The Golden Eagles quickly put the game out of reach early in the third quarter, scoring two touchdowns within a mere seven seconds. Aidan Littles capped off a 75-yard drive with a 22-yard rushing touchdown at the 12:59 mark. On the following play, Cayman Spaulding made a significant play, intercepting a pass from Nate Glantz and returning it 29 yards for a touchdown, elevating Tennessee Tech’s lead to 31-0.
Laible concluded the day with 119 passing yards, completing 13 of 20 attempts. In addition, Mitchell had a standout performance, rushing for 128 yards on 13 carries, while Littles contributed significantly with 98 yards on 11 attempts. Other players who added to the scoreboard with rushing touchdowns included Torin Baker, Jordan Yates, and Tyler Wilson.
For the Lions, Glantz completed 17 of 27 passes for 181 yards, including one touchdown and one interception, with Darrin Fugitt catching the lone touchdown pass. The dominant victory puts Tennessee Tech in a strong position within their conference as they look to build on this success in their upcoming games.
