DES MOINES, Iowa — Luke Bailey showcased his skills on Saturday, throwing for 206 yards and a touchdown, as Drake University Eagles secured a comprehensive 19-0 victory against the still winless Marist team. This triumphant win marked the Bulldogs’ remarkable consecutive victories in the Pioneer Football League (PFL), extending their win streak to 16 games.
This accomplishment places Drake second in the all-time win streak rankings within the PFL, trailing only San Diego, which holds a record of 39 consecutive wins set between 2015 and 2021.
Bailey’s pivotal 1-yard touchdown pass to Parker Olthoff concluded a 76-yard drive consisting of 10 plays, granting the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead just before the end of the second quarter. For the game, Bailey completed 18 of his 25 passing attempts, with one interception.
Shane Dunning contributed to the scoreboard by successfully kicking both of his field-goal attempts, from distances of 29 and 31 yards for Drake (6-1, 5-0). Additionally, Davion Cherwin sealed the scoring in this matchup with a 25-yard touchdown run, occurring with just over 10 minutes left in the third quarter.
In terms of rushing statistics, Luke Woodson led with 79 yards gained on nine carries. Cherwin matched him in carries but finished with 50 rushing yards. Taj Hughes stood out in the receiving department with five catches for a total of 79 yards, which notably included a 55-yard reception.

Drake’s current winning streak in league play commenced on October 29, 2022, when they triumphed over Stetson with a score of 24-17.
