CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Boston Celtics are set to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night, but they will do so without the services of guard Jaylen Brown.
Brown has been officially ruled out due to a strain in his left hip flexor, which has been a persistent issue for him in recent games. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla addressed the situation, indicating that Brown is considered to be “day to day” in terms of his recovery.
According to Mazzulla, this injury has been affecting Brown for some time now, yet he continued to play through it. The decision was made to allow him a night of rest to facilitate his healing process.
In the previous matchup against the Hornets on Friday night, Brown contributed significantly, scoring 25 points in a decisive 124-109 victory for the Celtics. This game marked the first of two consecutive nights of action for the teams at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center.
On the other side, the Hornets will also be feeling the absence of center Nick Richards, who is sidelined due to a shoulder injury. This leaves the Charlotte team without its top two centers, as regular starter Mark Williams is still out for the season.
