FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — On Friday, the Atlanta Falcons announced that rookie defensive lineman Ruke Orhorhoro has been placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.
Orhorhoro sustained the injury during the team’s 31-26 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend. As a result, he is set to miss a minimum of four games, starting with Sunday’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, as the Falcons, who lead the NFC South with a 5-3 record, look to maintain their position.
Selected in the second round of the draft, Orhorhoro had participated in the last four games for Atlanta, accumulating five tackles and one quarterback pressure.
To fill the vacancy left by Orhorhoro, the Falcons have signed linebacker Rashaan Evans to the 53-man roster. Evans was a key contributor last season, starting all 17 games for Atlanta.
Another rookie, linebacker JD Bertrand, has been ruled out for the upcoming game due to a concussion. Additionally, linebacker Troy Andersen (knee), offensive guard Chris Lindstrom (knee), and center Drew Dalman (ankle) are all listed as questionable.
Andersen has been sidelined for the last four games, and Dalman has been unable to participate since suffering his injury in Week 3.
