Manchester United has announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as its new permanent manager, marking the sixth individual to take on this role since the legendary Alex Ferguson stepped down in 2013.
At just 39 years old, Amorim comes to the Premier League club after a successful tenure at Sporting Lisbon. During his four seasons with the team, he guided them to two league titles, showcasing his capabilities as a top manager.
Amorim takes over from Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed earlier this week as the team finds itself struggling in 14th place in the Premier League standings, which consists of 20 teams.
Although Manchester United boasts a record 20 league titles, the club has not secured the Premier League championship since Ferguson’s retirement, causing it to fall behind its rivals in both English and European football.
