CHARLOTTE, N.C. — LaMelo Ball displays fearless energy on the basketball court, capturing attention with his confident play. However, it appears he hasn’t quite conquered his fears regarding clowns.
A Halloween-themed video featuring Ball has gained significant traction on social media. In this clip, the Charlotte Hornets’ point guard is seen cheerfully singing as he steps through a doorway after practicing at the Spectrum Center. Suddenly, a concealed mechanical clown springs to life, moving its arms and prompting the 23-year-old to react by jumping and letting out a scream.
In an amusing twist, Ball retaliates by playfully slapping the clown on the head. As he begins to ascend the stairs, he changes his mind, returns, and delivers another hit, causing the clown’s head to dislodge completely from its body.
Following this unexpected exchange, Ball bursts into laughter while making his way up the stairs, exclaiming, “Boy, hell no, it’s too early for that.” Joining him in the laughter is a team employee trailing behind. The fun escalates as Ball dramatically falls to the floor on the stairs, pretending to clutch his chest as he claims, “feel my heart!”
Looking ahead, the Hornets are set to take on the Boston Celtics in their next game on Friday night.
