The game concluded with Tanner Cragun successfully converting a 40-yard field goal as the clock expired, sealing the win for the Aggies.
Utah State, now sitting at a record of 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the Mountain West Conference, orchestrated a crucial 12-play, 53-yard drive to position Cragun for the decisive field goal, which was executed without hesitation. Earlier in the game, Wyoming appeared to have taken the upper hand when kicker John Hoyland, who had been perfect on his attempts, successfully kicked a 31-yard field goal with just 1:57 remaining on the clock, capping off a 10-play, 66-yard drive.
The Cowboys, struggling with a 1-7 overall record and also 1-3 in the Mountain West, had momentarily taken the lead after a stunning 54-yard rushing touchdown by Tyler King, which put them ahead 22-17 with 13:36 left in the game.
