Cedar Falls, Iowa — In an electrifying game on Saturday night, Jacob Clark demonstrated his prowess by throwing three touchdown passes, while teammates Jacardia Wright and Jayden Becks each eclipsed the 100-yard mark rushing with a pair of touchdowns, leading Missouri State to a thrilling 49-42 victory over Northern Iowa. This win bolstered Missouri State’s position in the Missouri Valley Football Conference as they maintained their unbeaten streak.

Wright showcased his talent with touchdown runs of 6 and 13 yards in quick succession, allowing Missouri State to extend their lead to 42-28 with just over three minutes left in the third quarter. Clark’s short touchdown pass to Connor Lair increased the advantage back to two touchdowns at 49-35 with approximately six and a half minutes remaining in the contest.

Northern Iowa’s Matthew Schecklman answered back with a 28-yard touchdown pass to Tysen Kershaw, wrapping up the scoring as the clock wound down to 44 seconds.

Wright concluded the game with an impressive 145 yards on 17 carries, while Becks added 108 yards on just seven attempts. Becks made an early impact with an 8-yard touchdown run and then broke free for a stunning 53-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

On the passing front, Clark achieved a solid completion rate, going 20-for-29 for a total of 275 yards for Missouri State (6-2, 4-0). In contrast, Northern Iowa’s Schecklman had a commendable performance as well, completing 20 of 30 passes for 270 yards, along with three touchdown passes, as Northern Iowa dropped to 2-6 overall and 0-4 within their conference.

Overall, Missouri State outperformed Northern Iowa in total yardage, racking up 575 yards against their opponents’ 485, emphasizing their strong offensive strategy throughout the game.
