CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — In an impressive display, Jaden Craig led the Harvard football team to a decisive 45-13 victory against Princeton, marking Harvard’s first win over the Tigers since 2016. This victory keeps Harvard in contention in the Ivy League, holding a position just one game behind the league leaders as they prepare for a pivotal matchup against Dartmouth next weekend.

The win is particularly significant for Harvard, breaking a six-game losing streak against Princeton. With this contest, Harvard’s record improves to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the league. Craig impressed throughout the game, conducting an efficient no-huddle offense that helped propel his team to an early lead. He connected on 25 of 32 throws for a total of 306 yards, despite throwing one interception.

Craig opened the scoring with two touchdown passes in the first quarter, hitting Kaedyn Odermann for a 19-yard score and Cooper Barkate for 14 yards. Early in the second quarter, he added a third touchdown, completing a 21-yard pass to Seamus Gilmartin, giving Harvard a 24-10 advantage at halftime. The Crimson continued their scoring effort in the second half with Charles DePrima running in a 3-yard touchdown and later connecting with Barkate for a long 39-yard touchdown. Malik Frederick concluded the scoring with a 1-yard rush late in the fourth quarter.

On the other side, Princeton’s Blaine Hipa managed to complete 14 out of 24 attempts for 145 yards, but he also threw an interception. The Tigers struggled offensively, accumulating only 14 first downs while their running attack was limited to just 78 yards off 36 carries. Princeton’s current record stands at 2-4, with a 1-2 mark in the Ivy League after this tough defeat.

As the season progresses, Harvard looks forward to their crucial matchup next week against Dartmouth, a team that remains undefeated in the Ivy League.
