Tom Holland is preparing to suit up as Spider-Man once more. Sony Pictures has announced that the fourth chapter of the popular franchise is scheduled to hit theaters on July 24, 2026.
Daniel Destin Cretton, who is acclaimed for directing Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” will take the helm for this upcoming, yet-to-be-named project. Cretton was initially attached to direct “Avengers: Kang Dynasty” but later stepped away from that role, as the project was reimagined into “Avengers: Doomsday” towards the end of last year.
Previously, the trilogy featuring Holland was directed by Jon Watts. Together, the films “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” grossed over $3.9 billion worldwide.
In a recent interview with “Good Morning America,” Holland spoke about the concept for the fourth installment, describing it as “crazy.” He added, “It’s a little different from anything we’ve done before, but I believe the fans will truly enjoy it.”
With the release date now set, Holland mentioned during his appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that filming is anticipated to begin in the upcoming summer.
