Inter faces another injury blow before crucial clash with Juventus

BERN, Switzerland — Inter Milan has suffered yet another injury setback as they prepare for an important Serie A clash this weekend.

Carlos Augusto was compelled to leave the field early in the second half during Inter’s Champions League encounter against Young Boys on Wednesday night.

The defender appeared to be in pain as he pulled up, visibly discomforted and gripping the back of his left thigh.

Preliminary assessments suggest that he may be dealing with a hamstring strain, which almost certainly means he will miss the upcoming match against rivals Juventus at home on Sunday.

Inter Milan was already dealing with personnel shortages, as influential players Hakan Çalhano?lu and Francesco Acerbi were sidelined due to muscular injuries suffered during their recent game against Roma.

Coach Simone Inzaghi had decided to rest several key starters, including Lautaro Martínez, Marcus Thuram, and Federico Dimarco, in the match against Young Boys.

However, he had to call upon Dimarco to replace Carlos Augusto after the injury occurred.

As Inter looks to regain momentum in their campaign, these injuries could pose significant challenges moving forward.
