Zimbabwe achieved an impressive total of 344-4 during a T20 World Cup qualifying match on Wednesday, marking a new world record for international cricket in this format, according to the governing body for cricket.
The match took place against Gambia at the Ruaraka Sports Club in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of an African sub-regional qualifier.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that Zimbabwe’s score surpassed the previous record of 314-3, which was established by Nepal in a match against Mongolia earlier in 2023.
A standout performance came from Sikandar Raza, who scored an extraordinary 133 runs without losing his wicket off just 43 balls, featuring an impressive tally of 15 sixes throughout his innings.
This remarkable feat has set a new benchmark in T20 international cricket and will surely be talked about in the sporting community for years to come.
