UConn has emerged as the top contender for the women’s title in the Big East Conference, according to recent predictions.
The team, coached by Geno Auriemma, has been consistently recognized as the preseason favorite since they returned to the Big East in 2020, receiving all ten first-place votes in the latest poll conducted by the league’s head coaches—who were prohibited from voting for their own teams.

Ranked No. 2 in the AP preseason poll, UConn will welcome back Paige Bueckers, last year’s conference Player of the Year, and she is favored to reclaim that title.
Additionally, the Huskies have an impressive newcomer in Sarah Strong, who is expected to make a significant impact this season.

Following UConn in the rankings, Creighton has been placed second, with Providence taking the third spot. St. John’s and Georgetown follow in fourth and fifth places, respectively.
Villanova comes in sixth, with Seton Hall, Butler, and DePaul rounding out the middle of the pack.

The Blue Demons are currently facing challenges as they miss their head coach, Doug Bruno, who is recovering from a medical incident he experienced last month.
In his absence, assistant coach Jill M. Pizzotti is stepping up to serve as the interim head coach.

Marquette, now under the guidance of new coach Cara Consuegra, has been predicted to finish in the tenth position.
Xavier completes the list at the bottom of the rankings.
