CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton and his family encountered a car accident on Tuesday. The 36-year-old athlete was assessed by the medical staff of the team, according to an official from the Panthers.

Fortunately, no members of Dalton’s family required hospitalization following the incident.

Dalton, accompanied by his wife, three children, and their dog, was traveling westbound on Sardis Road near downtown Charlotte when the collision took place. The team representative indicated that it remains unclear whether another vehicle was involved in the accident, and they have refrained from providing additional details.

Dalton stepped in as the starting quarterback for the Panthers during Week 3, taking over from Bryce Young. Since Dalton’s appointment, the team has experienced challenges, accumulating a record of 1-4 in games he has started, contributing to an overall standing of 1-6 for the season.
