Resale tickets for the highly anticipated World Series opener at Dodger Stadium, featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees, commenced at a remarkable price of $1,358 on StubHub this past Monday evening.

Sales have already surpassed last year’s overall figures, indicating a significant interest as they are currently four times higher than the rate observed during the 2022 World Series.|

In particular, ticket sales for Games 3 through 5 in New York showed a notable increase, being 40% higher than those for Games 1, 2, 6, and 7 in Los Angeles.

Vivid Seats, another major platform for ticket resales, reported that the average ticket price for this year’s World Series sits at $1,368. This is approximately double the average of $685 recorded last year during the competition between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks. For context, the average resale price at Vivid during the 2009 World Series, which pitted the Yankees against the Philadelphia Phillies, was about $550.

Additionally, Vivid Seats shared specific statistics on ticket pricing for the upcoming games. The average ticket price for Game 1 on Friday was reported at $1,302, while Game 2 on Saturday saw an increase to $1,392. The price further climbed to $1,443 for Game 3 at Yankee Stadium and settled at $1,389 for Game 4 scheduled for October 29. However, the company has yet to release the total number of tickets sold during this period.
